... the campaign to make bad businesses liable for consequential damage and loss
|23/08/2016||CAPE UNION MART, Waterfront : I feel cheated ....|
We all know that retailers mark-up their products to make a profit .... and then sometimes put the product 'on sale' and mark-down the price, if the product doesn't sell that well.
But we never expect that mark-down to be more than about 10-20% ... because we don't expect the original profit markup to be more than that.
So it was with some disgust that I found the Kuhl rain jacket I had paid R3000 for at Cape Union Mart, was suddenly marked-down to R1999, just 2 months later!!! ...
So, what was it worth in the first place?
This is not illegal, but it does leave me feeling like I've been fooled and my naievty (and trust) taken advantage of. Cape Union Mart must understand that to exploit me so, is going to undermine the trust (and loyalty) of a long-standing customer of some 30 years.
